Creative Writing & MemoirsCreative Writing is led by Dorothy Sterpka, a lecturer of English Composition at Central Connecticut State University. The focus of this course is continuing to hone writing skills in different modes (memoirs, fiction and poetry) by reading the works of others and by sharing the writings of each participant, followed by discussion of what has been read.
The Writing Your Memoirs class is led by Leta Marks who taught English at Bloomfield High School and writing and literature at the University of Hartford. After receiving her PhD in English at UConn, her dissertation was published as a creative non-fiction story of growing up in New Orleans. Each week members of the group read short memoirs to one another for the delight of hearing them and to give/receive positive, constructive critique about their writing.
The objective of this site, is to post the work of the writers in the ALP Creative Writing and Memoirs Seminars which best demonstrates their inventiveness and creative technique in poetry, fiction, memoirs, and essays. We hope this website will encourage other writers to join us. All rights of the authors to these works are reserved, and republication or reproduction of any part thereof is prohibited without permission.
